Oscars 2010

Anna Kendrick in Elie Saab

I love the soft shade of pink towards her pale skin. It is a classic dress, but at the same time a little different with lace details. The loose hairdo emphasizes the romantic dress and the simple accessories complements the whole look.

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta

Cameron Diaz looks sophisticated in this creation from Oscar de la Renta. Such a bold dress looks best with classic hair and toned down accessories, which is the look Diaz went for. Glittery dresses were a huge trend at the Oscars this year.

Demi Moore in Atelier Versace

The powdery shades are a big hit this season, and Demi Moore shows us how to pull it off. Atelier Versace has made a dream of ruffles and Demi is the perfect woman to wear it.

Diane Kruger in Chanel

This dress is simply wonderful. It could have been a boring, way to classic gown, but with all the details going on, this creation makes me happy. Diane Kruger looks lovely with her hair up, giving the dress the attention it deserves. Matching, black was a safe, but smart move.

Elizabeth Banks in Versace

It is a bit similar to Demi Moores Versace dress, but at the same time it is not. This one gives more of a hard look, giving some edge to Elizabeth Banks. Maybe choosing bigger earrings would balance the look a bit more? Anyway, she looks stunning.

Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packham

This dress is on here merely because of this picture only. I have seen other pictures that shows that this might not have been the right style for Miley. The dress itself I found beautiful, with the showing underwear trend mixed with a sheer, soft look. The accessories and hairstyle is perfect too.

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab

This dress i amazing, in every way. Rachel McAdams looks great with her hair up, and choosing big earrings as her only accessory was a smart choice. I love the colours, the shades of blue, green and lilac goes great with Rachels skin and eyes.

I could not resist going shopping after all. This is what I ended up with:D I have been annoyed that I have not really had anything to relax in at home while I’ve lived here. So that was a priority today. Of course I also ended up with another flower patterned dress. Haha. But I do love it. Urban Outfitters are now one of my absolute favourites. I have never been in there, and I was very surprised to find so many lovely things. I’d spend all my money if I had more time.

Sunny day

I was so happy when the sun decided to make an appearance today as well. The sun makes everything better. I did not go out until it was quite late though, but I’ve had a good day. I’ve been watching Gilmore Girls, relaxing, eating scallops and chocolate. Not wearing make up (not that that makes me all that happy, but it was nice). Now I have a heavy night with a lot of pattern cutting to do, but it was so worth it.

Outfit today: Keds shoes, tights from H&M, trousers from Topshop (yes, I’ve been wearing them a lot lately), sweater from Zara, Cardigan from Topshop, coat from H&M, scarf was a gift from my grandpa, bag from Topshop.

Shoes from Topshop, tights from Dorothy Perkins, trousers from Topshop, jacket from B Young, backpack from Mango, scarf was a gift from my grandpa, earrings from Made for the people by the people, headset from AKG, hat from H&M

Haha, I looked like I was going to go skiing when I went out the door yesterday. Scared of getting cold and bored I guess. New post coming very soon!

I am now home after a great weekend in London. I had a fantastic time with Ingrid, Håkon and Tobias. We spent most of our time shopping, and in the evenings we were way to tired to do anything. On friday we arrived at the hotel quite early in the day. After putting our bags in the room we hit Oxford Street. It was highly entertaining to see people with Bergans jackets and snus again, as Oxford Street had been invaded by half of Norway this week. I really had to watch what I was saying. However we did not bump into either Voe or Nette Nestea (I think maybe they both went home the same day that we got there (whatever)). We got very tired after all the shopping, and took the underground back to Paddington. After a lovely dinner at Angus Steak House we bought a few beers and decided to just relax at the hotel room. On the way, we met an old friend of mine, Eira. She joined us for a bit, but went to a concert later on. We got up quite early on saturday and went straight to Harrods. Before actually going to Harrods we looked around in the area around it, and we went on a “museum tour” (as I like to call it) in the insanely expensive stores. It was fun though, seeing the clothes in real life, not only on the catwalk. We spent the day looking around and went back to Oxford Street for a little bit afterwards. Then I really was in a shopping mood, and bought quite a bit. Want to know what I bought? Then continue reading. The night was spent eating greek food at a tiny restaurant with stressed staff and having a couple of beers while watching Ugly Betty in our room. Perfect ending of a perfect trip. Hehe. This is what I bought:

I also bought a white and blue striped sweater and a blouse with orange/red/yellow flowers at Zara and two pair of earrings at Topshop. I just could not find any pictures online. Outfit pictures will come later if I can persuade Tobias to help me:)

Shopping results of the day

Topshop

I’ve been very good. I’m trying to save money for our trip to London this weekend, so I didn’t buy much today. I did, however, buy these Tapered Twill Trousers from Topshop. This picture looks stupid, it looks much better on.

Outlet shopping

Ingrid and Håkon is finally here. YAY! I’ve been waiting for this for such a long time now. Since it was raining and it was not very tempting to go outside, we started the week slow. After eating breakfast at 14.00 we took a long walk towards Gunwarf. During the hours we spent there I only bought some new make up (from M.A.C of course). Unfortunately I don’t feel like having any pictures of me taken today, so no outfit post today. Here are my outlet shopping results of the day:

Eyeshadow from the Hello Kitty collection from M.A.C.

Prep and prime lip primer from M.A.C.

More shopping result might be posted tomorrow. I will try (I miiiight just happen this time) to review it on www.ninjabeautysecrets.wordpress.com

Travelling again

After an emotional, but successful weekend, we are heading back to Portsmouth. There have been many tears, but many of them also good. When a family member pass away, it will always hurt, no matter how prepared you are. But coming together, and sharing this moment, makes your heart smile a little too. I have to mention that it was my boyfriend’s family this happened to, and I am very happy to be able to share this with such wonderful people. I hope they think it is okay that I write this.

Here are some pictures of my wonderful boyfriend while travelling back to see his parents:

We’re heading to the train in just half an hour, so I better put my make up on and get ready. Tomorrow, my best friend (Ingrid) and her boyfriend is coming to visit, and they are staying for a week. I am SO excited.
