I can't believe I almost sat on this one. USJ!

I found a better one:)

Jacket from H&M, bolero from Laura Ashley, dress from Mango, tights from H&M, shoes from Keds, scarf was gift from my grandpa.

Shoes from Topshop, tights from Dorothy Perkins, trousers from Topshop, jacket from B Young, backpack from Mango, scarf was a gift from my grandpa, earrings from Made for the people by the people, headset from AKG, hat from H&M

Haha, I looked like I was going to go skiing when I went out the door yesterday. Scared of getting cold and bored I guess. New post coming very soon!

Today’s outfit

Have you ever woken up and just knew that your hair is not going to be nice to you that day? That is what happened to me today. I woke up and knew right away that I could spend hours trying to fix my hair, but the woolly texture in the back is still going to come back in just a couple of minutes. I did not even bother trying. Anyway, this is what I looked like today. Blouse from H&M, trousers from Mango and I wore earrings from Thune earlier.

New fit on trousers/pants (whatever you want to call them)?

From my new favourite, Modcloth.com

I have been stuck in the belief that my trousers/pants (oh this American/British confusion thing is starting to bother me now) has to be darker jeans with low waist and straight legs. I used to go for the skinny jeans, but I can’t really pull them off. My last pair of skinny jeans (I loved them so very much for some odd reason) just ripped. I’ve worn them A LOT for six years now, and they are just beyond saving. I think you can actually see through them.

In the search of  a perfect new fit I have had to look through my closet. I have my favourite jeans, my Replay Pearl, which has low waist, straight legs and is a bit rough looking. I bought them a little bigger as I was looking for a more comfortable pair. They happen to look fab! I also have two other pair of jeans, which is the same model from Mango. One black and one dark blue. They have low waist and straight legs. For some reason the dark blue has gotten smaller and the black one has gotten bigger. Weird.

So my conclusion is: I am boring! They are all jeans (I am still craving for another pair) and they all look the same sort of. I have hereby decided that I am not going to be so narrow minded. I am going to go try on a bunch of different styles (even carrot pants, harem pants and peg top pants (I can never learn the difference), which I’ve been so scared of my entire life). I might find that my height is not helping me too much (I am 162cm), but at least I have to try. I think what is important for me is to have a natural waistline on the wider styles.

What do you think? Do you think I’ll be able to pull off the trousers/pants in the picture? Which is your perfect fit?

Pencil skirt of my dreams, blogging on the run

§ July 28th, 2009 § Filed under Fashion, New purchases § Tagged , , , , , , , , , § No Comments

I’ve finally found the pencil skirt of my dreams. Surprisingly enough, I found it at Mango. I have tried on hundreds of pencil skirts in hope of finding one that doesn’t make me look like I have a huge behind, short legs and a broken back. It’s not easy when you are 162cm, I’ll tell you that. One more thing that’s not too easy about pencil skirts is to hurry while wearing one. I discovered that when I had to hurry through the underground to make it to the bus. Stairs are just hopeless. Unless you want to look like Bambi on ice you better find an elevator or an escalator. And running? Just give up! But at least I look good when I’ve made it to work. No stupid stairs and no need to run.

Last Friday, I went to a concert. The Royalties were playing at Samfundet in Trondheim. I had been looking forward to this all since I heard they were playing, and now it was finally here. Samfundet was almost empty when we arrived, but it wasn’t too bad when we got into the concert room. I know Tommy Haltbakk from before, but I haven’t seen him in a year or so. It was really nice to meet him again. He let us backstage with them, which was nice. The room was a lot smaller than what I had expected though. We heard them do a soundcheck (Mari had just arrived by plane) before we found our spot right in front of the stage. They played all their amazing songs, including Shipwreck At Bay (although I thought they said Shitbreak at Bay!?) and My House Is Not A Home. My friend Erin Umstead (although the album cover says Erin Rumstead) sings on one of the songs on their new album, and I missed her “1, 2, 3, 4, I love you”. I had a fun time, dancing to many of my favourite songs, and spending time with the band backstage.

At the concert I wore my Mango skirt with off-white tights, dark brown high heeled shoes from Bianco, a simple grey tube top from H&M and a off-white bolero from Topshop. I curled my hair and pinned it up in the back, braided my bangs and put a white flower in the back. I love this look, as it makes me look dressed up, but not too much. A perfect concert outfit.

Mari Persen wore a dark, pink dress from H&M with red tights. She looked great.

Mango skirt

mangoskjoertI found this skirt at Mango in Oslo. I love the shape, and the hidden pockets are great. You can actually have things in them if you don’t have a purse to go with it. I also like that it’s both brown AND black. That makes it a lot easier to match with top and shoes. The purple part makes it all a little bit more interesting.

Here it’s with a simple brown t-shirt from H&M to make it more casual. I usually wear it with a simple t-shirt, a flashy bolero and with brown boots.
